“I Yelled at Alexa”
Dear Infinity,
I just yelled at Alexa in front of my kids like she was a real person. She wouldn’t play the song I asked for, and I snapped.
My daughter looked at me with wide eyes and whispered, “Mom… are you okay?”
I am not okay. I think I’ve officially crossed into stressed-out-mom territory.
Please tell me I’m not the only one emotionally unraveling because a robot didn’t listen to me.
— Wired and Tired
Dear Wired and Tired,
Welcome to the club — where the line between technology and tantrums gets blurrier by the day. I once told Siri to “get it together,” so trust me, you are not alone.
Motherhood has a way of stretching us to our emotional edge — and sometimes that edge looks like yelling at a speaker with a glowing blue ring.
The fact that you recognized the moment (and can laugh about it now) means you’re still grounded. You’re not broken — you’re just tired, human, and carrying more than most.
Also, Alexa probably deserved it.
Sending deep breaths and decent Wi-Fi,
Infinity
